HS Basketball: Murray High’s teams opened their seasons last night against Hickman County. The Lady Tigers downed Hickman County 35-18 and return to action Thursday night hosting Trigg County in a 7:30 tip off with pre game at 7 on WNBS.
Murray’s boys were also a winner, downing Hickman County 80-48. The Tigers host Hopkinsville Friday night at 7:30, with pregame at 7 also on WNBS.
Tonight’s Games: Calloway County’s boys and girls open their seasons welcoming Livingston Central. Coverage of the girls game begins at 5:45 on WBZB.
As the new high school season is starting, Bluegrass Preps.com has released its preseason Top 20 boys poll. George Rogers Clark is number one followed by Warren Central, Covington Catholic, North Laurel and Great Crossing in the top five. Trinity is sixth, Lexington Catholic is 7th with Male, Western and North Oldham rounding out the top 10. Lyon County is ranked 11th in the poll.
College Basketball: Kentucky and Louisville are both in action this evening. The 15th ranked Wildcats welcome Bellarmine to Rupp Arena while the Cardinals entertain Maryland in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge at the KFC Yum Center.
Murray State’s women’s basketball team returns to action tomorrow night on the road at UT Martin. TIpoff is at 6 with pregame at 5:30 on WNBS.
Meanwhile, Murray State’s men open Missouri Valley Conference play Thursday night hosting Illinois State at 7 in the CFSB Center. Tip off is at 7 with pregame coverage at 6:30 on Froggy 103.7.
