HS Basketball:  Boys action saw Murray defeat Graves County 66-57 and Calloway County topped Carlisle County 77-64.  In girls action Calloway County fell to Carlisle County 60-54.

College Basketball:   The Murray State Racers return to Missouri Valley Conference action this evening hosting the Bradley Braves.  The Racers are 8-6 overall and 3-1 in the Valley while the Braves are 10-5 overall and also 3-1 in the conference.  Tip off is at 7 with pre game coverage from the CFSB Center at 6:30 on Froggy 103.7.

Elsewhere in the Valley this evening:  Northern Iowa visits Valparaiso, Illinois State welcomes Indiana State, Southern Illinois entertains Drake, UIC hosts Belmont and Evansville travels to Missouri State.

Southeastern Conference action last night: 25th ranked Kentucky eased by former Murray State coach Matt McMahon’s LSU Tigers 74-71, ninth ranked Tennessee crushed Mississippi State 87-53 and Vanderbilt had to go to overtime to defeat South Carolina 84-79.

In the ACC: Syracuse edged Louisville 70-69.

NBA:  TMZ reports Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is accused of punching a 17-year-old during a pickup basketball game at his Shelby County home back in 2021.  The suit claims Morant got into an argument with the minor and knocked him to the ground “with a closed fist,” then struck the teen several more times.  Authorities say Morant claimed self-defense after he said the minor made verbal threats to “light his house up.”  The case was submitted to the District Attorney’s office back in October, but officials declined to prosecute.
