The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports the westbound lanes of I-24 in Marshall County are blocked following a traffic accident involving a FedEx truck overnight.  Reports indicate one of the two semi trailers split in half.  Westbound I-24 traffic is being re-routed at Exit 27 interchange to US 62 west allowing re-entry to I-24 at the exit 16 interchange at Reidland.

A Calloway County man wanted in connection on burglary and rape charges was arrested Tuesday in Hickman County.  West Kentucky Star.com reported Wednesday investigators from Hickman, Graves and Carlisle counties arrested 40-year-old Justin Riley in connection with an incident last month.

Riley was spotted by Graves County sheriff’s deputies hiding out in eastern Hickman County near the Graves County line.  Riley reportedly jumped out of a two story home where he was hiding and tried to take a Carlisle County deputy sheriff’s car along with trying to heist a Graves County sheriff’s car.  In addition to the rape and burglary charges, Riley was also charged with assault, attempted theft, criminal mischief, and fleeing or evading.

Two Murray residents were arrested Monday on drug related charges.  The Calloway County Sheriff’s Department says 40-year-old Jennifer L. Robinson and 26-year-old Jessalyn S. Redmon were taken into custody after a search of a local residence found enough fentanyl to kill 57-thousand people, which is 20-thousand more than Calloway County’s entire population.  Robinson was charged with trafficking fentanyl while Redmon was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

WPSD reported Wednesday the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission filed a legal brief on former 42nd Circuit Judge Jamey Jameson’s appeal to remove him from office on misconduct charges.  In the brief, the JCC is asking the Kentucky Supreme Court to affirm their findings.  Jameson has contested the accusations and the misconduct hearing were politically motivated.
