College Basketball:  Murray State fell on the road at Belmont last 80-65 at the Curb Center.  Rob Perry led the Racers with 14 points followed by JaCobi Wood with 12 and Jamari Smith added 11.  Murray State is now 10-9 overall and 5-4 in the Valley and return to action Saturday hosting Indiana State at 5 with pre game at 4:30 on Froggy 103.7

Don’t forget the Hey Coach show with Coach Steve Prohm will tape at noon today and be replayed at 6 this evening also on Froggy 103.7

Elsewhere in the Valley:  Southern Illnois defeated Evansville 78-70 and Valparaiso over UIC 76-66.

In the Southeastern Conference:  Kentucky topped Georgia 85-71, ninth ranked Tennessee downed Mississippi State 70-59 and Alabama defeated Vanderbilt 78-66.

Tonight’s Games:   Missouri Valley Conference play has Indiana State hosting Bradley, Northern Iowa welcomes Illinois State and Drake entertains Missouri State.  The Louisville Cardinals are back in ACC action this evening hosting the Pitt Panthers at the KFC Yum Center.

HS Basketball:  Calloway County defeated Christian Fellowship 56-53 in girls action while the Lakers drubbed Christian Fellowship 87-38.  The Laker boys and girls are back in action Friday night hosting Marshall County.  The girls game begins at 6 with the boys to follow.  Pre game begins at 5:45 on 104.5 WBZB.

Graves County’s Lady Eagles topped Murray High 54-33 last night. The Tiger boys and girls host Christian Fellowship Friday night.  Coverage of the girls game begins at 5:30 on WNBS.

NFL:  The Tennessee Titans’ search for a new general manager is over.  ESPN reports Ran Carthon was hired to become Tennessee’s GM yesterday.  The former 49ers director of player personnel interviewed for the job last Friday and will take over for Jon Robinson who was fired back in November.
