The National Weather Service is keeping an eye out for the possibility of severe weather today into Thursday.  Widespread rain is forecast, but with temperatures in the 60’s today, a few strong to severe storms could be possible.  Forecasters are concerned about brief torrential rains, large hail and wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

The timing of the storms in Western Kentucky is to be late tonight into Thursday morning east of the lakes.  The severe weather chances are greater toward the Tennessee/Arkansas border.

A juvenile has been charged with making threats to Lyon County High School.  The Lyon County SherriFf’s Office reports the 16-year-old male was charged after allegedly making threats about bringing a bomb to school last Friday.  WPKY Radio-Princeton reported the teen is charged with second degree terroristic threatening and was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

The Calloway County Public Library will be closing January 17th and will remain closed through March 27th due to a upcoming phase of its construction project.  The library will begin pop up remote service days to provide limited service on February 21st.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Tuesday the 2022-2045 Long Term Transportation Plan has been unveiled.  The plan-which seeks to improve future transportation for all modes of travel-can be viewed at GetThereTogetherKY.org.
