College Basketball: Murray State’s 20 game home win streak ended last night in a 63-57 loss to Southern Illinois. Rod Perry had 26 points to lead the Racers, with Kenny White, Jr. adding 13 in the loss. Murray State is now 7-6 and 2-1 in Missouri Valley play and returns to action Sunday afternoon at Evansville. Tip off is at 1 in the Ford Center with pregame at 12:30 on Froggy 103.7.
Elsewhere in the Valley last night: Indiana State drubbed Evansville 91-63 and Drake topped Valparaiso 68-63.
Murray State’s women open Missouri Valley action this evening hosting Illinois Chicago at 6 this evening in the CFSB Center. It will be only the third all time meeting between the schools and the first since 1987. Pre game coverage begins at 5:30 on WNBS.
HS Basketball: Boys action at the Murray Bank Hardwood Classic saw Calloway County rout Webster County 67-47. The Lakers play in the championship game at 4:30 today with pregame at 4:15 on 104.5 WBZB.
Murray High’s boys lost to Larue County 69-54 at the Smoky Mountain Winter Classic. The Tigers meet East Jackson, GA today.
Girls play at The Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic saw Murray High split games Thursday. The Lady Tigers downed Caldwell County 51-35 and lost to Paducah Tilghman 60-37. Murray High will play Muhlenberg County in the winner’s bracket third place game at noon today with air time at 11:45 on WNBS, then meet Todd Central in the final of the consolation bracket at 1:30 with coverage also on WNBS.
Calloway County fell to Central Hardin 53-51 at the Lady Invitational of the South event in Scottsville.
NFL: The Dallas Cowboys downed the Tennessee Titans 27-13 last night in Nashville. The 7-9 Titans meet Jakcsonville in the regular season finale next Sunday.
NBA: Ja Morant had 19 points and 17 assists as the Memphis Grizzlies downed the Toronto Raptors 119-106 last night. Memphis is back home to host New Orleans tomorrow night.
