HS Basketball:  Calloway County’s Lady Lakers fell to McCracken County last night 73-46.  Meanwhile Calloway County’s boys downed Graves County 55-46.  Murray High’s boys lost to University Heights 60-53.

 College Basketball:   Missouri Valley Conference action last night saw Belont drub Trevecca 83-53, Valparaiso topped Trinity Christian 96-60, Bradley edged SIUE 56-54 and Toledo defeated Northern Iowa 84-79.

Tonight’s Games:   Southern Illinois hosts Indiana State in Missouri Valley Conference play.  Other games involving Valley teams have Illinois State welcoming Eastern Michigan, Evansville entertains Campbell, Drake hosts Omaha and Missouri State visits Saint Mary’s.

Women’s action in the Valley has Southern Illinois welcoming Tennessee State and Valparaiso entertaining Western Michigan.

Other games this evening have seventh ranked Tennessee hosting Eastern Kentucky and Vanderbilt entertains Pitt.

Murray State University student athletes will benefit from the larges gift given to Racer athletics since 2014.  Swift and Staley Inc. announced Tuesday they will be giving the athletic program $250-thousand.  There are more than 320 student athletes in the Racers athletic program.

NFL:  The Tennessee Titans announced the firing of general manager Jon Robinson Tuesday.  The firing comes two days after a 35-10 loss at Philadelphia with the Titans 7-5 on the season and atop the AFC South Division.  The Titans say Ryan Cowden-the team’s vice president of player personnel-will take over for the remainder of the season.
