Paducah police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Tuesday at the city’s downtown gazebo at 2nd and Broadway.  The 39-year-old man from Tennessee-who has not been identified-was found slumped over and pronounced dead at the scene.  An autopsy is to be performed today at the Regional Crime Lab in Madisonville.

Contour Airlines began flight service from Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah Tuesday.  West Kentucky Star.com reports Contour will fly from Paducah to Charlotte, NC.  Fares are expected to be about $65 on the 30 seat jet.  Contour is taking over from SkyWest who announced earlier this year it would terminate its service from Paducah to Chicago.

Lyon County Judge Executive elect Jamie Green was sworn in Monday to take over for the remaining days of Wade White’s term.  She won election to the job in the November election.  White announced his decision to retire in 2021 and he was nominated in June by President Biden to serve on the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Board of Directors.

Tennessee is feeling the effects of a nasty flu season.  The CDC has the Volunteer State listed in its very high category which is its most severe.  Health officials are encouraging Tennesseans to get their flu shots to help protect themselves and their loved ones during the holiday season.
