
College Basketball: Murray State’s men’s and women’s basketball teams picked up two signees each on Monday. On the men’s sidem, the Racers signed Lawrent Rice from Dayton, Ohio. He’s a 6-3 guard at Wayne High School. John McCrear from Detroit. The 6-9 forward is playing his senior season in Kentucky at Woodford County High School in Versailles.
On the women’s side, the Racers announced the signings of Destiny Thomas, 6-1 guard/forward from McCracken County High School and Haven Ford, a 5-5 guard from Rowan County High School in Morehead.
In the Missouri Valley last night: Lipscomb edged Belmont 77-75, Drake over Wofford 80-72 and UIC defeated Jacksonville State 67-60. The Northern Iowa at Virginia game was canceled due to the shooting involving members of Virginia’s football team.
Women’s action: UIC drubbed Chicago State 87-62.
Tonight’s Games: One men’s game in the Missouri Valley has Bradley entertaining Eastern Michigan.

The Kentucky Wildcats are landing the number-one recruit in the country. Five-star guard D.J. Wagner announced yesterday that he is committing to play for the Wildcats. Wagner chose Kentucky over Louisville after the two teams vied to land the coveted guard. His commitment secured Wildcats head coach John Calipari his fourth number-one recruit while at Kentucky. Wagner currently plays at Camden High School in New Jersey.
A key player on the Tennessee Titans defense is hoping to avoid season-ending surgery. ESPN reports Caleb Farley likely suffered a
herniated disk during the team’s 17-10 win over the Denver Broncos. The cornerback would miss the rest of the season if surgery is needed. Farley already had a back procedure done before the 2021 draft where Tennessee selected him in the first round. The Titans visit the Green Bay Packers Thursday night.
