Several trucks were involved in separate accidents that closed Interstate 24 in Caldwell County and Trigg County for most of the day Saturday. Eastbound I-24 was closed after a collision involving four of the trucks and another vehicle. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports one of the drivers was taken to a Nashville hospital. It was also reported the impact of the accident was so severe two of the semis had to be disentangled before being removed.
The second accident near the 58-mile marker on east bound 24 involved a truck that caught on fire. Traffic at that site is restricted to one lane until sometime today.
Some of Mayfield’s downtown streets could re-open today for the first time since the deadly tornado of last December 10th. Officals say demolition crews finished removing the Graves County courthouse and the American Legion building. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says motorists should be alert for personnel removing traffic barricades and changing signage around the court square.
Livingston County schools are closed today and tomorrow due to a flu outbreak. Classes will resume Wednesday. Classes in McCracken and Crittenden County are also canceled today due to the flu.
Over 253-thousand Kentuckians cast early ballots for tomorrow’s election. Polls will open tomorrow at 6 am and close at 6 pm.
No one won the Powerball jackpot Saturday night, meaning tonight’s jackpot is worth $1.9 billion dollars. However, two tickets in Kentucky brought players one million dollars each, with one of the winning tickets sold in Benton.

College Basketball: Murray State will open the regular season in St. Louis tonight against the Billikens. Pre game coverage for the 7 pm tip off is at 6:30 on Froggy 103.7.
Missouri Valley Conference teams are all in action this evening. Games include: Valparaiso at Toledo. Belmont hosts Ohio University, Indiana State welcomes Green Bay, Evansville travels to Miami, Ohio, Bradley entertains Wisconsin-Parkside, Southern Illinois hosts Little Rock, UIC welcomes Trinity Christian, Northern Iowa is home to Wartburg and Illinois State entertains Western Illinois.
Other season openers this evening include fourth ranked Kentucky hosting Howard University, 11th ranked Tennessee welcomes Tennessee Tech and Vanderbilt entertains Memphis.
Women’s play in the Missouri Valley: UIC travels to IUPUI, Valparaiso visits Central Michigan, Indiana State entertains Saint Louis, Evansville goes to Eastern Kentucky, Northern Iowa welcomes St. Thomas (MN), Drake entertains Green Bay and Missouri State hosts Missouri.
College Football: Following an off week, Murray State plays its final home game of the 2022 season Saturday afternoon hosting Robert Morris. Kickoff at Stewart Stadium is at 1 pm with pregame at 12:30 on Froggy 103.7.
A reminder due to Murray State’s basketball game this evening, there will be no live recording of the Hey Coach show today at the Big Apple Bar and Grill. Hey Coach will instead air tomorrow night at 6 on Froggy 103.7.
College Soccer: An early second half goal held up for Missouri State as the Bears defeated Murray State’s women 1-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference final on Sunday. The Racers conclude the season with seven wins-12 losses and three ties.
NFL: Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 20-17 overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium. Mahomes ran in a 14-yard touchdown with under three minutes left in regulation, and he plunged through for the game-tying two-point conversion to send the game to an extra frame.
Harrison Butker drilled a 28-yard field goal in overtime, and the Chiefs defense stopped Tennessee on the ensuing drive. Derrick Henry had two touchdowns for the Titans, who saw their five game win streak end.
