RACERS BLANKED BY EIU
Megan Burton’s two-run homer was all Eastern Illinois would need as the Panthers salvaged the finale of a three game series with a 4-0 win over Murray State softball. The Racer offense was limited to singles by Jensen Streigel and Lexi Jones. With the loss, the Racers slipped to 19-25 overall and 16-12 in the OVC. The Racers will return to action tomorrow when they make the trip for a 3 pm out of conference game at North Alabama.
UTM TAKES THE LEAD IN ALABAMA
UT Martin fired a 5 under par 283 and jumped from fourth place to a two-shot lead over Belmont heading into today’s final round of the OVC Men’s Golf Championship in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Murray State shot a 300 and sits in ninth place, 33 shots off the lead. UT Martin’s Jack Story shot a 68 and at 136 now the individual leader by two shots over OVC Player of the Year Evan Davis of Belmont and Morehead State’s Joe Muschong. Murray State’s Avery Edwards fired a 3-under-par 69 to jump from 27th to 11th place. The final 18 holes are being played today.
MONDAY’S HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL RESULTS
Kyle Crady and Jackson Bell combined for a three inning no-hitter as Murray High brought the metal in a 19-0 win at Fort Campbell. Austin Miller and Reese Wilson each drove in three runs, while Carson Tucker, Nick Holcomb, Nathan Rogers, and Abram McNutt each drove in two as the Tigers improved to 9-6.

CARDINALS LOSE PITCHER’S DUEL WITH PHILLIES
Rhys Hoskins hit a pair of homers as the Phillies topped the Cardinals 2-1 in St. Louis. Zack Wheeler picked up his second win of the year, giving up one run on one hit while striking out nine over eight-plus innings. Hector Neris earned his fourth save. Adam Wainwright twirled a complete game in defeat for St. Louis, dropping to 0-and-3. Dylan Carlson had an RBI groundout for the lone Redbirds run in the ninth. St. Louis and Philly will meet up again tonight, with first pitch set for 6:45 and airtime at 5:50 on WNBS AM and FM.
MORANT SHINES BUT GRIZZLIES LOSE
In the NBA, Ja Morant scored 27 points as Memphis lost on the road to the Nuggets, 120-96, in Denver. Morant added 6 rebounds and 6 assists as the Grizzlies shot a jarring 4-32 from three-point-range. Next up for the Grizzlies is quick two-game homestand against Portland and Orlando this week.

On the ice, Nick Cousins and three teammates lit the lamp as the Nashville Predators defeated the visiting Panthers 4-1. Both teams run it back tonight as Nashville looks to keeps its playoff hopes in tact…The Blues pushed their winning streak to two-games with a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in St. Louis. St. Louis will next play tomorrow when they head to Minnesota to face the Wild.
LOUISVILLE TO GET NEW BASEBALL FACILITY
UofL Athletics is getting a gift from Kroger Louisville Division. The grocery-store chain is giving UofL Athletics three-million dollars. The school said yesterday the money will be used to build a new indoor baseball practice facility. It’s expected to be built outside of the left-field area of Jim Patterson Stadium.
KHSAA NEEDS UMPIRES, REFEREES, AND VOLUNTEERS
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association says it’s facing a shortage of umpires and referees for games. KHSAA says it needs more volunteers. KHSAA officials say the problem is only getting worse with the weather getting better and better. Anyone interested in getting involved can go to khsaa.org.

Tickets are still available to celebrate the Commonwealth’s culture during this year’s Thurby event at Churchill Downs. Track officials say Thurby is becoming one of the most treasured traditions of Kentucky Derby Week. They say Thursday’s event is an opportunity to celebrate what makes Kentucky, and its people unique and special. This year’s event will include a music lineup of Kentucky natives and Kentucky-inspired food.

The Atlanta Falcons are open to offers on seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones. General manager Terry Fontenot tells Fox 5 in Atlanta that they would listen to offers if anyone calls, especially with their current cap situation. Jones has spent his entire 10-year career in Atlanta, and is the Falcons’ all-time leader in catches and yards.
The 49ers are intrigued by several quarterbacks in the upcoming NFL Draft. Head coach Kyle Shanahan says the team feels good about five of the QB’s at the top of most draft boards. The Niners hold the third overall pick. The Jaguars have the first selection followed by the Jets. The NFL Draft gets going on Thursday night in Cleveland.
Rockets guard John Wall is going to miss the remainder of the season with a Grade Two hamstring strain. The team announced the injury will sideline Wall for their final 11 games. Houston has the worst record in the league at 15-and-46 and has already been eliminated from playoff contention.
Devin Booker poured in 33 points as the Suns rallied to beat the Knicks 118-110 in New York. Phoenix put an end to the Knicks’ NBA-leading nine-game winning streak, which was also New York’s longest streak since 2013. Elsewhere, the Spurs outlasted the Wizards in overtime 146-143, while the Pelicans crushed the Clippers 120-103.
LeBron James is adding another record to his resume. James now holds the record for the most expensive basketball card of all-time. The 2003 James Exquisite Collection patch card recently sold for a whopping five-point-two million dollars. That also ties for the most expensive sports trading card ever, matching a 1952 Mickey Mantle card.
