A wanted fugitive and a juvenile were apprehended following a pursuit Tuesday night in Marshall County.  West Kentucky Star.com reports just after 9 pm, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department went to a Culp Road home searching for 18-year-old Michael Fisher-wanted on three failure-to-appear warrants for felony drug offenses.

Fisher and a 17-year-old juvenile then led authorities on a chase in which Kentucky State Police and Marsahll County Sheriff’s deputies assisted.  Fisher was served with the three warrants and charged with possession of meth.  The juvenile is charged with fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief and traffic violations

Kentucky’s gun regulations could be getting less strict.  That’s after the House passed a bill yesterday that would prohibit the commonwealth from enforcing a federal ban or regulation on firearms.  It’s described by advocates as a “Second Amendment protection bill” and would make Kentucky a so-called “Second Amendment sanctuary state.”  A similar proposal made it through the House last year but did not clear the Senate.

A Kentucky lawmaker has introduced a measure to reinstate abortion access in the Commonwealth.   Representative Lindsey Burke says every person has the right to choose or refuse to bear a child.  Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates of Kentucky and others spoke in favor of it.

The League of Women Voters in Kentucky wants voting rights restored to felons.  More than 160-thousand Kentuckians are not able to vote due to a past conviction, and the league wants to change that.  It’s asking for a constitutional amendment on the ballot to automatically restore voting rights.  The league says Kentucky is one of only three states that permanently bans anyone with a felony conviction from voting.

Kentucky is in middle when it comes to highest property taxes in the U.S.  That’s according to WalletHub, which ranks the Bluegrass State 23rd.  WalletHub says Kentucky’s effective real-estate tax rate is point-85 percent.  The state with the lowest property taxes is Hawaii, and the highest is New Jersey.
