College Basketball:  The Murray State Racers got a much needed road win 76-75 last night at Illinois State.  Rod Perry led the Racers with 26 points which included six three pointers.  Kenny White Jr,. added 16, Quincy Anderson pitched in 11 and Jamari Smith had 10 as the Racers improved to 14-13 overall and 9-8 in Missouri Valley play.  The win was the Racers third on the road in the Valley this season.  Murray State returns home to face Evansville Saturday afternoon at 3, with pregame at 2:25 on Froggy 103.7 and froggy103.com.

Last night in the Valley:  Belmont drubbed Evansville 95-63, Indiana State topped UIC 79-60,  Bradley over Missouri State 64-54 and Drake downed Northern Iowa 82-74.

Elsewhere:  11th ranked Tennessee upset top ranked Alabama 68-59 and Kentucky held off Mississippi State 71-68.  The Wildcats and Vols square off on Saturday in Lexington. Louisville gave 7th ranked Virginia all they wanted but fell 71-68 in Louisville last night.  The Cardinals visit Clemson Saturday.

Murray State’s women hit the road today for the first of a two game road trip that begins tomorrow night at Missouri State.  Tip off is at 6 with pre game at 5:30 on WNBS.

 HS Basketball:   Murray High’s boys and girls return to action this evening hosting Carlisle County.  Coverage of both games from Taylor Gym begins at 5:30 on WNBS.

College Baseball/Softball:   Murray State’s teams begin weekend series tomorrow.  The Racer baseball team opens the 2023 season in the first of a three game series at North Florida.  First pitch in Jacksonville begins at 5:05.

Murray State’s softball team plays at the Trojan Classic at Troy University beginning tomorrow.  The Racers meet Kennesaw State at 11 am and host Troy at 5 pm.  The Racers will face off against the same two teams Saturday.
