HS Basketball: Murray High’s boys routed Fulton County 71-33 while the Lady Tigers drubbed Fulton County 49-15.  Murray High’s boys and girls are in action again this evening at McCracken County, with coverage of the girls game beginning at 5:30 on WNBS.

Calloway County’s boys downed Ballard Memorial 88-70 while the Lady Lakers downing Lyon County 80-47.  Calloway County’s boys and girls welcome Mayfield in a doubleheader this evening, with coverage from Jeffrey Gym beginning at 5:45 on 104.5 WBZB.

College Basketball:  The Murray State Racers hit the road today for a Wednesday night game at Illinois State.  Tip off is at 7 with pre game at 6:25 on Froggy 103.7 amd froggy103.com.

Southeastern Conference action this evening has Vanderbilt visiting South Carolina.

MLB:  The St. Louis Cardinals are locking down their president of baseball operations.  The team signed John Mozeliak to a two-year contract extension yesterday.  The deal will keep him as St. Louis’ top decision-maker on player personnel through the 2025 season.  The Redbirds haven’t had a losing season since he took over, and the team has won two National League pennants and one World Series during his tenure.

Major League Baseball is keeping one of its experimental rule changes.  ESPN reports the league will continue to have a runner on second base to start each extra inning during all regular-season extra-inning games.  The MLB joint competition committee has voted unanimously to make the rule permanent after three seasons of implementing it.

The league also reportedly made a change to position players pitching, as teams must lead by 10 or more runs in the ninth inning to send a position player to the mound.  The rule also applies if a team is trailing by eight or more
