A Dexter man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon by the Calloway County Sheriff’s Department  on drug related charges following a traffic stop.  64-year-old Billy Brandon was spotted driving erratic on Kentucky 80.  Investigators searched the vehicle and methamphetamine was allegedly found.  Brandon was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.

Hopkins County is in line to receive a reimbursement from the federal government for storm debris removal.  FEMA has approved the funding for the cleanup following the tornadoes in December 2021.  The expenses cover labor costs, removal of demolition and vegetative debris, equipment and other materials.  The reimbursement totals over five-million dollars.

The investigation continues into a Wednesday night shooting in Hopkinsville which left a man dead.  WHOP Radio reports 42-year-old Tony Burse of Hopkinsville was found dead just after 11 pm on Breathitt Street.  Hopkinsville police say Burse died from multiple gunshot wounds and recovered five shell casings and two bullet fragments in the area of the incident.

A two month investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and authorities in Ames, IA has led to an arrest.  31-year-old Mikyal Saberinak of Smithland was arrested Thursday on charges of sending inappropriate pictures and videos to a girl,  Saberniak is being held in the McCracken County jail.
