College Basketball:  The Murray State Racers edged the Belmont Bruins 83-82 last night at the CFSB Center.  Brian Moore Jr. led the Racers in scoring with 25 points, with Rob Pertry adding 13 and DJ Burns pitched in 12 in front of 5,271 fans.  The Racers are now 13-10 overall and 8-5 in the Missouri ValleyMurray State is back in action Saturday at Indiana State at 3 pm, with pregame at 2:25 on Froggy 103.7 and online at froggy103.com.

Elsewhere in the Valley last night:  Missouri State defeated Valpo 70-65, Illinois State upended UIC 63-58, Bradley over SIU 62-52, Indiana State routed Evansville 83-65 and Drake outlasted Northern Iowa 86-81 in double overtime. 

Other action saw Louisville get its first ACC win of the season defeating Georgia Tech 68-58 and Florida drubbed second ranked Tennessee 67-54 in Southeastern Conference action.

Murray State’s women return to action this evening as they are on the road in Missouri Valley action at Belmont.  Tip off from the Curb Center is at 6:30 with pregame at 6 on WNBS. 

College Football:   Murray State announced the signing of seven players for the 2023 season Wednesday.  Four FBS transfers, an FCS transfer and two high school seniors will join the Racers for the 2023 season in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

The FBS and FCS transfers are defensive lineman Detoye Adewote from Tennessee State, wide receiver Michael Fox from NC State, tight end Cole Rusk from Eastern Michigan and cornerback Davion Sistrunk from Missouri along with defensive lineman Sam Williams from Pittsburgh.  The high school players are tight end Reece Wilder from Boonville High School and Kevin Emmanuel, a running back from Eureka High School.
