HS Basketball:  In semifinal action at the Girls 1st Region All A Classic, Murray High upset Mayfield 40-36.  The Lady Tigers will move into the championship game to face Carlisle County who edged Christian Fellowship 37-34.  The final is Saturday night at 6 with pre game at 5:30 on WNBS.

 

Action this evening includes Murray High’s boys meeting St. Mary in one of the semifinal games of the 1st Region All A Classic in Mayfield.  Tip off is at 6 with pre game at 5:30 on WNBS.

 

Calloway County’s teams are also in action this afternoon and evening.  The Lakers meet the DeSales Colts in quarterfinal action at the Kentucky 2-A Championship at the Owensboro Sports Center.  Tip off is scheduled for 1:30 with pre game at 1:15 on 104.5 WBZB.

 

The Lady Lakers welcome Caldwell County this evening at 6 with pre game coverage at 5:45 also on WBZB.

 

College Basketball:   The Murray State Racers return to Missouri Valley Conference action tomorrow afternoon hosting UIC.  The game will also feature the retirement of the jersey of former Racer Cameron Payne.  Tip off is at 3 pm with pre game coverage at 2:30 on Froggy 103.7.

 

Murray State’s women will also be back in Missouri Valley action Sunday afternoon entertaining Bradley at the CFSB Center.  Tip off is at 2 with pre game at 1:30 on WNBS.

 

NFL:  The Tennessee Titans are looking to make changes to their defensive coaching staff.  ESPN reports Tennessee requested an interview with Commanders’ defensive backs coach Chris Harris, who would be filling a similar role for the Titans. Meanwhile, the Titans are still looking for a new general manager.

MLB: Matt Holliday’s short stint as the bench coach of the St. Louis Cardinals is coming to an end.  To 43-year-old told the club yesterday that he is resigning from the position in order to spend more time with his family.  Holliday was hired as the Cardinals bench coach in November.  Joe McEwing will take Holliday’s place after spending the last 15 years in the White Sox organization.
