The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin pre=treating area roads starting today in anticipation of winter weather later this week.  Crews will be spraying brine on Interstate 24 this afternoon into Wednesday.  Crews also will start pre-treating efforts on B and C snow priority routes.   The National Weather Service indicates the possibility of one to three inches of snow later this week along with extreme cold and high winds are expected to create near blizzard conditions and lows around zero.

 

A local woman who had been reported missing over the weekend has been found safe.  According to a Facebook post from the Calloway County Sheriff’s Department, 88-year-old Sina Richardson had last been seen on Saturday driving a blue mini van. She was found on Sunday.

 

Fulton Public Works will be turning water off for a period of time today for a major valve repair.  The interruption will take place at 8 am for an hour on Cedar Street.  After the repair is completed, a boil water advisory for the area will go into effect until some time Thursday.

 

Kentucky is facing a so-called “triple-demic.”  That’s according to doctors across the Bluegrass State who say they are dealing with high levels of flu, COVID-19 and RSV. Doctors are encouraging people to get their flu shots and COVID boosters as well as maintain hygienic practices like hand washing and social distancing where possible.
