South Road in downtown Cadiz was closed for a period Sunday afternoon after the discovery of a old 40 millimeter grenade.  Cadiz Police tell WKDZ Radio the grenade was located by someone fishing for magnet fish in the area.  The grenade was removed to a safe area and destroyed by Fort Campbell’s bomb squad.

The National Weather Service says we could see anywhere from an inch and a half to three inches of rain over the next several days.  Several periods of rain are forecast beginning today with the heaviest rains expected Wednesday and Thursday.  Some areas of Western Kentucky and Western Tennessee could see higher amounts of rain with slight possibilities of flooding as the rain will be spread out over several days.

Nine counties in Western Kentucky are at a high community level for COVID-19.  According to figures released Friday by the Kentucky Department of Public Health, Ballard, Carlisle, Crittenden, Grave, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall and McCracken counties are at the high community level, while Caldwell, Calloway, Fulton and Trigg counties are at the low community level.

Meanwhile, flu activity in Western Kentucky was decreasing as numbers were smaller than they have been recently.  Cases were reported to be plateauing in Trigg, Lyon, Crittenden, Livingston and Caldwell counties.
