Trigg County sheriff Aaron Acree was indicted by a grand jury
Wednesday. According to WKDZ Radio, Acree was charged with
fourth degree assault for allegedly injuring Crystal Smith in January of this year.
He also faces official misconduct charges for allegedly having the
Trigg County jailer transport Smith to his office to commit the assault. Acree is also charged with terroristic threatening. Court records also show Smith was arrested that same day in January for allegedly entering Acree’s home during a burgulary.

Five people were hospitalized following a traffic accident involving a
dump truck in downtown Paducah Wednesday. A minivan collided
with a dump truck at the intersection of Third and Jefferson Streets.
West Kentucky Star.com reports the driver of the dump truck, 57-
year-old John J. Vogt of Paducah told authorities he saw the van pull from a stop sign into his path and he was unable to stop.

The driver of the van-30-year-old Justin Rowland of Smithland and
two children were flown to an out of state hospital while two other
children were treated at Baptist Health-Paducah. Vogt was not hurt.

A Hopkinsville industry will be highlighted on the Fox Business
Network. According to a news release, the Siemer Milling Company
will appear on the show “How America Works” with Mike Rowe on
December 5 th at 7 pm. The hour long show will focus on Siemer
Milling, its employees, wheat suppliers and the role the three
components play in the milling industry.
