A small explosion was reported on the Murray State University
campus Tuesday.  According to a news release from the school,
Murray State police responded to a small chemical leak in a chemical lab.  University spokesman Shawn Touney said a student was in the lab and was treated and later released from an area hospital. Classes were canceled for the remainder of the day in that area Tuesday.

Calloway County Fiscal Court has announced the new Hyper Reach
program is functioning. According to a Facebook post, Hyper-Reach
is a better system and has greater versatility in messages it can send
and is more cost-efficient.

The goal of Hyper Link is to provide timely warnings to the citizens of Murray and Calloway County as effectively as possible according to Calloway County Emergency Management director Jeff Steen.

Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron has announced that
twelve counties have been randomly selected for a post-election
audit.  The action follows passage of a bill this past legislative session expanding the attorney general's authority to audit no fewer than a dozen counties for potential election irregularities.  Christian and Webster counties are among the dozen to be audited.

Following a public viewing at the state Capitol yesterday, former
Governor John Y. Brown Junior will be laid to rest today.  Brown was 88 when he passed away last week.  The private memorial service at the state capitol today will be livestreamed on Kentucky Educational Television, beginning at 3 pm Eastern time.
