College Basketball: Jacobi Wood led Murray State with 24 points as the Racers upset 24th ranked Texas A&M 88-79 in the opening round of the Myrtle Beach Invitational Thursday. It was the first win for Murray State over a top 25 team in a decade.

Wood was one of four Racers in double figures with Kenny White, Jr. scoring 18 points with Jamari Smith adding 17 and Rob Perry scored 12. Murray State is now 2-1 on the season and meets UMass in semifinal action this afternoon at 1:30 with pregame at 1 on Froggy 103.7

Elsewhere: Fourth ranked Kentucky beat South Carolina State 106-63 and improved to 3-and-1 on the college basketball season. The fourth-ranked Wildcats play second ranked Gonzaga Sunday night in Spokane.

Murray State’s women return to action tomorrow night hosting Chattanooga at 6 at the CFSB Center with pregame at 5:30 with Jeremy Rose on WNBS.

College Football: Murray State concludes the 2022 season tomorrow afternoon on the road at Southeast Missouri with pregame at 12:30 on Froggy 103.7.

Other games tomorrow include top ranked Georgia at Kentucky, 5th ranked Tennessee visits South Carolina, Vanderbilt entertains Florida, 8th ranked Alabama hosts Austin Peay and Western Kentucky goes to Auburn. Louisville is also in action hosting 24th ranked North Carolina State.

College Volleyball: Murray State’s volleyball program has signed two players for the 2023 season. The student athletes are Lilly Burnett-an outside hitter from Christian Fellowship High School here in Murray and Paige Brock-a setter from Morgantown, West Virginia.

The Racers begin play in the Missouri Valley Conference volleyball tournament in Evansville Sunday night at 6 against Valparaiso.

NFL: The Tennessee Titans remain one of the hottest teams in the NFL after their 27-17 Thursday Night Football win over the Packers in Green Bay. Ryan Tannehill was incredibly efficient, completing 22-of-27 passes for 333 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Derrick Henry rushed for 87 yards along with a touchdown. The running back also threw for a TD. Tennessee is now 7-and-3 and has won seven of their last eight games.
