Murray police arrested a local woman Wednesday on charges of taking $22-thousand from a senior resident of the city. According to a news release, 35-year-old Dawn Metcalf is charged with two counts of theft by deception over $10-thousand and other charges which include one count of knowing abuse or neglect of an adult. Metcalf is also charged with four counts of theft of identity without consent.

The city of Murray reminds water customers of a planned water outage today along Kentucky 94 East. According to a news release, the shutdown only affects city water customers living on KY 94 East or on roads connected to it, from the location of Murray Paving to the end of the city water line. The shutdown will begin at 8 am and customers of that area are reminded once water is restored, there will be a boil water advisory until further notice.

Calloway Fiscal Court voted earlier this week to approve a settlement agreement between the county and Western Shores property owners and developers of the subdivision. A lawsuit filed in 2018 asked for $1.6 million in compensation in regards to the subdivision’s roads. The settlement of the suit calls for the repair of the roads and that the county will maintain them moving forward.

Officials say the Men in Pink fundraising project for the Regional Cancer Center at Murray-Calloway County Hospital raised 20-thousand dollars more than a year ago. At a banquet earlier this week, it was announced over $120-thousand was raised during this year’s fundraiser, up from $100-thousand in 2021.
