The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning for all of Western Kentucky today. Forecasters say gusty west to northwest winds are expected, along with a relative drop in humidity around 20%. Those conditions in combination with very dry conditions “will result in critical fire danger,”

It took several hours for all lanes of Interstate 69 and the Purchase Parkway to be cleared in Graves County yesterday after a tractor trailer overturned. The accident occurred near the 21 mile marker. Investigators say the semi hit a concrete barrier knocking concrete into the roadway.

The Calloway County Board of Education meets in regular session this evening. Among items on the agenda is approval of RBS Design Group’s application in the amount of over $222-thousand payable to A&K Construction for the Calloway County Schools auxillary gym project. The meeting begins at 6 pm.

The Jackson Purchase Distillery in Fulton County has announced expansion plans. According to a news release, the project has increased from an initially planned investment of $8.76 million and 30 jobs to nearly $26 million and 54 jobs. Several new positions will be added including a mechanical engineer, quality control manager, plant manager, and roles in boiler operations, grain processing, laboratory and data processing, and regulatory compliance. Once fully operational, the distillery is expected to produce more than 60-thousand barrels annually.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet started its fall mowing and litter pickup along I-24 yesterday. Crews started at the Christian/Trigg County line near mile marker 69 and will work their way west to the Ohio River Bridge in Paducah.

KTC spokesman Keith Todd says motorists should treat these areas like other work zones. Litter crews are doing their work ahead of the mowing crews.

HS Soccer: In the 1st Region Girls Championship game, Marshall County won its sixth consecutive title, defeating McCracken County 1-0.

The Boys 1st Region title game today has Marshall County facing McCracken County.

HS Volleyball: Calloway County visits Murray High in the final regular season match for both teams. It begins at 6 pm at Murray High.

HS Football: Both Murray High and Calloway County go through final preparations today for their games Friday night. The Tigers travel to Caldwell County with pregame tomorrow night at 6 on WNBS. Hopkinsville comes to town to meet Calloway County with pregame at 6:30 on WBZB.

College Football: Murray State renews its rivalry with Austin Peay on Saturday in Clarksville. Pregame coverage from Fortera Stadium airs at 2:30 on Froggy 103.7.

Kentucky may get its signal caller back for their game against Mississippi State this weekend. Will Levis has been practicing this week and head coach Mark Stoops said it seems like he’ll be healthy, barring any setbacks. The game at Kroger Field is on Saturday night.

College Soccer: Murray State’s women’s team goes for its fourth win in five matches as the Racers travel to Southern Illinois in Missouri Valley Conference play this evening. The match begins at 6.

NBA/NHL: Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies are in Detroit tonight taking on the Pistons in preseason action.

The Nashville Predators open the home portion of the season this evening on the Bridgestone Arena ice hosting the Dallas Stars.
