Racers Head to OVC Play

The 74th season of basketball in the Ohio Valley Conference for the Racers begins (Dec. 30) at home against Southeast Missouri.

The first weekend of OVC play includes the Racers competing on New Year’s Day for just the sixth time and the first since 2003. MSU hosts Tennessee Tech at the CFSB Center at 7 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2022.

The Racers first played on New Year’s Day in 1956 when Coach Cal Luther’s team beat Mississippi State at old Racer Arena 91-80.

Wildcats Arrive In Florida To Prepare For Citrus Bowl

(Orlando, FL) — The UK football team is in Florida. The Wildcats arrived yesterday in advance of the Citrus Bowl. The ‘Cats will face Iowa on New Year’s Day. The game is set for 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon.

Cardinals Preparing For First Responder Bowl

(Dallas, TX) — The UofL football team is making final preparations for its bowl game. The Cardinals will play the Air Force Falcons tomorrow afternoon in the First Responder Bowl in Dallas. The Cards are a slight underdog against the Falcons. The game is set for 3:15.

Grizzlies Use Balanced Effort To Take Down Kings

(Sacramento, CA) — Seven Grizzlies scored in double figures in their win over the Kings. Memphis beat the Kings 127-102 in Sacramento. Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with 28 points, Jaren Jackson Jr. supplied 21 and Ja Morant added 18 points. Memphis stays on the road to play the Suns in Phoenix tonight.

(Nashville, TN) — The Titans’ offensive line is dealing with COVID-19. Tennessee placed right guard Nate Davis on the COVID-19 list on Saturday. Davis joins Taylor Lewan, Rodger Saffold and Kendall Lamm on the COVID-19 list.

Predators Play Capitals On Wednesday

(Washington DC) — The Predators get back on the ice after some time off. Nashville plays the Capitals in Washington DC on Wednesday night. The Preds’ last three games were postponed and their road game against Dallas tonight has been postponed as well.

Blues Return To Action Wednesday

(St. Louis, MO) — The Blues are set to return to the ice on Wednesday. St. Louis will take on the Edmonton Oilers at home. The Blues currently sit tied with Nashville for second in the Central Division with 39 points, one behind first-place Minnesota. The NHL is set to resume its season tomorrow.

 

High School Hoops

In high school sports the Lady Tiger Classic gets underway today with the Murray High Lady Tigers taking on Livingston Central at 3:30, The Tiger Boys are playing Miller Academy in the Caldwell County Classic airtime 1:30 on WNBS.
