
Running Racers Push Past Mocs – Tevin Brown Career-High 33 Point
The Murray State Racers pushed past the Chattanooga Mocs with a 53-point second half and turned it into an 87-76 victory on Saturday. It was their 22nd consecutive non-conference win at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. The Racers (10-1) have won seven in a row overall and at home this season as they travel to play the Auburn Tigers on Wednesday, that game can be heard on Froggy 103.7 with 4:30 airtime.
The Murray State women’s basketball team picked up its eighth win in 10 tries Saturday with a 74-50 win over Lipscomb at the CFSB Center. For just the fourth time in program history, the Racers have won at least eight of their first 10 games .The best 10-game start in program history occurred in 1988-89. On Tuesday, the Racers will travel to Gainesville, Florida to take on the Florida Gators in MSU’s non-conference finale. Airtime at 11:30 on WNBS.

Number-21 Kentucky defeated North Carolina 98-69 in Las Vegas on Saturday. The Wildcats were originally supposed to play Ohio State in Vegas, but the Buckeyes had to back out because of COVID issues in their program. Also on Saturday, Western Kentucky beat Louisville 82-72 in Bowling Green The Memphis game versus number-18 Tennessee on Saturday was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Tigers’ program.
Steelers Edge Titans In Defensive Struggle
(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Steelers forced four turnovers to get back over 500. Pittsburgh improved to 7-6-and-1 after a 19-13 win over the Titans at Heinz Field. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 148 yards and scored the Steelers’ only touchdown on a QB sneak in the third quarter. Pittsburgh finished with less than 170 total yards but took advantage of turnovers with four Chris Boswell field goals. Ryan Tannehill had a day to forget for Tennessee as he threw an interception and lost a fumble. It was one of three fumbles lost by the Titans. Despite a strong defensive performance, Tennessee fell to 9-and-5.

(Memphis, TN) — The Grizzlies welcome one of the worst teams in the NBA to Memphis. The Grizzlies host the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight. Memphis enters the game at 19-and-12 after beating the Kings and losing to the Blazers over the weekend.
Predators Shut Down Through Christmas
(Nashville, TN) — The Preds are gonna be off the ice for a bit. The NHL announced Saturday that the Predators and Boston Bruins will both be off until at least Christmas due to COVID-19 issues. Yesterday’s game against Carolina was postponed, along with tomorrow’s game against Winnipeg and Thursday’s game at Florida. Nashville did beat the Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime in Chicago on Friday night.
Jets Double Up Blues
(Winnipeg, Manitoba) — Paul Stastny scored twice in the third period to beat his former team as the Jets doubled up the Blues 4-2 in Winnipeg. Stastny also had an assist. Vladimir Tarasenko and Niko Mikkola scored for St. Louis, which saw its seven-game point streak come to an end. The Blues visit Ottawa tomorrow.

Saints Blank Bucs On Sunday Night Football
(Tampa, FL) — The Saints made it ugly and it worked out perfectly for them. New Orleans grinded out a 9-0 shutout win over the Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football in Tampa. Taysom Hill threw for 154 yards and guided the Saints to three made field goals from Brett Maher. Cameron Jordan led the defense with two sacks as New Orleans improved to 7-and-7. Tom Brady completed 26-of-48 passes for 214 yards and one interception for the Bucs. Tampa Bay dropped to 10-and-4.
Packers Escape Baltimore, Clinch NFC North
(Baltimore, MD) — The Packers went on the road and secured the NFC North, but it wasn’t easy. Green Bay withstood a late two-point conversion attempt from the Ravens to win 31-30 in Baltimore. Aaron Rodgers threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns as Green Bay moved to 11-and-3. Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley looked nothing like a backup, as he passed for 215 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 73 yards and two scores. Baltimore fell to 8-and-6.
NHL Cancels Cross-Border Games Amid Omicron Surge
(New York, NY) — The NHL and its players’ association are announcing that cross-border games will be postponed for the upcoming week. The announcement Sunday comes as the league takes on a rising number of COVID-19 cases. Twelve games that would have taken place between Monday and Thursday are affected by the decision. The statement added that a final determination on whether NHL players will participate in the 2022 Beijing Olympics will also be coming soon.

(Detroit, MI) — The Lions are pulling off a major upset at home. Detroit stunned the Cardinals 30-12 at Ford Field. Jared Goff threw for three touchdowns in the win. Former Auburn QB Nix To Transfer To Oregon
(Eugene, OR) — Bo Nix is trading in the SEC for the Pac-12. The former Auburn quarterback announced that he will be transferring to the University of Oregon. Nix finished this past season with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions before an ankle injury ended his season. Nix will have two years of eligibility as a grad transfer.

(Orlando, FL) — With his son Charlie by his side, Tiger Woods is making a strong comeback to competitive golf. The pair finished second in the PNC Championship in Florida this weekend. The event, which partnered champions with their family members, was won by John Daly and his son, John Daly the second. (Los Angeles, CA) — Things are going from bad to worse for the Lakers. The Purple and Gold announced Saturday that Anthony Davis will miss at least four weeks with an M-C-L sprain in his knee. The 28-year-old power forward left Friday night’s game against Minnesota after Jaden McDaniels of the Timberwolves rolled into Davis’ left knee. Davis is averaging 23.3 points and 9.9 rebounds in 27 games this season. The Lakers also have six players in the NBA’s COVID-19 protocols — including Dwight Howard.
Steelers’ Watt Sets Franchise Single-Season Sack Record
(Pittsburgh, PA) — T.J. Watt is making Steelers’ history. The superstar pass rusher set the franchise single-season record for sacks in a 19-13 win over the Titans in Pittsburgh. Watt’s 17th sack of the year in the third quarter pushed him past James Harrison for the record. Harrison recorded a message for Watt, which was posted to social media after the record was broken. The former Steelers legend encouraged Watt to take down the NFL’s all-time single season record next.
Iowa State’s Breece Hall To Sit Out Cheez-It Bowl
(Ames, IA) — Iowa State running back Breece Hall will not play in the Cheez-It Bowl. The Des Moines Register reports Hall declared for the 2022 NFL Draft on Saturday, forgoing his remaining eligibility for the Cyclones. The report says Hall’s mother confirmed this morning that he will not play against Clemson on December 29th. Hall leaves Iowa State as a two-time All-American and as the Cyclones’ all-time career leader in touchdowns.
