
Tevin Brown Earns OVC Player Of The Week Award
Murray State’s Tevin Brown was named the Player of the Week after a vote by communications directors in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Brown becomes the third MSU player to have received a total of four weekly awards in the 2021-22 season.
He played all 40 minutes as Murray State won 74-72 at Memphis (who was ranked No. 12 in the Preseason Top 25), nearly 10 years to the day they topped a nationally-ranked Memphis squad in 2011-12.
The Murray State women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader originally scheduled for Tuesday (Dec. 14) have been rescheduled for Wednesday (Dec. 15). The Racer women’s team will host North Alabama at 5 p.m. at the CFSB Center with the men’s game against Tennessee Wesleyan to follow at 7 p.m.
Admission for tomorrow’s double header of Marshall at Murray will be FREE for everyone. They are also asking for cash donations to assist families affected by the catastrophic tornado. The twin bill tips off at 6:30, and you can hear that game on WNBS 97.9 FM, and 1340 AM.
Tuesday’s Predators’ Game Postponed
(Nashville, TN) — The Nashville Predators’ game against Calgary tonight has been postponed. It comes after six players and one staff member on the Calgary Flames entered the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol in the last 24 hours. Calgary has postponed games through Thursday.
Grizzlies Blow Out 76ers
(Memphis, TN) — The Grizzlies whupped one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Memphis trounced the Philadelphia 76ers 126-91 last night on home court. Dillon Brooks led the way with 23 points, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 22 and De’Anthony Melton chipped in with 15 off the bench. The Grizzlies play the Trail Blazers in Portland tomorrow night.
Blues Visit Dallas Tonight
(Dallas, TX) — The Blues are in Dallas to skate against the Stars tonight. The teams will then rematch on Friday in St. Louis. The Blues have earned at least a point in five straight, going 3-0-and-2 in that stretch. They sit at 15-8-and-5 overall.
Former Cards Manager Shildt Lands Job With MLB
(New York, NY) — Former Cardinals manager Mike Shildt is landing his next job with MLB. Multiple outlets reported Monday Shildt has taken a job with the commissioner’s office in the on-field operations department. Shildt was fired by the Redbirds in October after three full seasons on the job.

Report: NFL Records 37 Positive COVID-19 Tests
(Undated) — The NFL is dealing with an unusually high amount of positive COVID-19 tests in its weekly Monday testing. ESPN reports the league had 37 positive COVID cases on Monday. That’s a steep increase from the combined 72 positive tests the NFL recorded from November 14th to the 27th. Mondays typically yield higher positive cases as vaccinated players and personnel are tested along with unvaccinated players.
Report: Vegas Will Host Super Bowl 58
(Henderson, NV) — The Super Bowl is reportedly heading to Sin City. The NFL is expected to announce on Wednesday that Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas will host Super Bowl 58 in 2024. Final approval for a Vegas Super Bowl would be made during Wednesday’s owners meeting. Both the Raiders and the NFL have declined comment. Las Vegas is also scheduled to host this season’s Pro Bowl and the 2022 NFL Draft.
Bills’ Allen Day-To-Day With Foot Sprain
(Buffalo, NY) — The Buffalo Bills are hopeful quarterback Josh Allen will be able to start this weekend. Head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Allen is considered day-to-day with a left foot sprain. He suffered the injury in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Buccaneers. Harbaugh Says Ravens Planning To Start Jackson Against Packers

When asked Monday if Lamar Jackson would be able to play, Harbaugh said, “The plans are right now, in my mind, for Lamar to be out there.” Jackson has never missed a game due to injury in his NFL career.
Bellamy Gets Three-Year Prison Sentence
(Tampa, FL) — Former NFL wide receiver Josh Bellamy is going to federal prison for 37 months. The 32-year-old was sentenced on Friday for COVID-19 relief fraud. Bellamy obtained a PPP loan that was worth one-point-two million dollars, and he admitted to using the money on personal items rather than his company, Drip Entertainment LLC. Bellamy played eight seasons in the NFL with Washington, the Chiefs, Bears, and Jets.
NBA Postpones Bulls’ Games Due To COVID-19 Outbreak
(Chicago, IL) — The NBA is postponing its first games of the season due to COVID-19. The league announced Monday that the Chicago Bulls’ next two games will be rescheduled as a result of 10 players and multiple staff members being placed into the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Chicago was scheduled to play the Pistons at home on Tuesday and the Raptors in Toronto on Thursday. No dates for the rescheduled games were released.
Kedon Slovis Enters Transfer Portal
(Los Angeles, CA) — Kedon Slovis is joining the college football quarterback carousel. The USC quarterback entered the transfer portal on Monday after a disappointing season leading the Trojans.
