Titans Lose To Bears In Preseason Finale
(Nashville, TN) — The Titans ended the preseason with a 27-24 loss to the Chicago Bears in Nissan Stadium on Saturday. Backup quarterbacks Matt Barkley and Logan Woodside each threw for at least 100 yards. Cameron Batson caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown, and Brian Hill led Tennessee on the ground with 63 yards. Tennessee hosts the Arizona Cardinals in Week One. The Titans also put center Ben Jones on the Reserve/COVID-19 List yesterday.
Nashville SC Blanks Atlanta
(Nashville, TN) — Nashville SC picked up another win by beating Atlanta United 2-0 in Atlanta on Saturday. Daniel Rios and Randall Leal both scored for Nashville. SC is now third in the MLS Eastern Conference with 35 points and hosts New York City FC on Friday night.
Grizzlies Buy Out Rondo
(Memphis, TN) — The Rajon Rondo era in Memphis came to an end over the weekend. The Grizzlies bought out Rajon Rondo’s contract on Saturday, making him a free agent. Rondo was traded from the LA Clippers to Memphis in the deal that sent Eric Bledsoe to the Clippers earlier this offseason. ESPN is reporting that the Lakers are the front runner to sign Rondo once we clears the waivers.
Racers Sweep Opening Day, Fernandez Moves into Third on All-Time Digs List
Murray State opened their 2021 campaign with 3-1 wins over both New Hampshire and Stetson
The Murray State Racers volleyball team (2-0) began their 2021 season with two wins on the
first day at the Mercer Bear Classic.
The Racers won the opening game over New Hampshire (0-1) in four sets, 25-12, 25-20, 23-25,
27-25, and finished the day, winning also in four sets over Stetson (0-2), 25-22, 25-18, 21-25,
25-15.
Becca Fernandez moved into third place on the Racers’ All-Time Dig List, picking up 15 digs
against UNH and 35 digs against Stetson, moving past Kim Koehler with 2,022 career digs.
Brooke Lynn Watts made a statement in her collegiate debut, knocking down 46 kills over the
two matches. She hit .333 with 25 kills in the first match and then followed it up with 21 kills in
the night cap.
Bailey DeMier also making her collegiate debut, dished out 84 assists and dug 34 balls.
Murray State falls to Xavier in Women’s Soccer
The Murray State Women’s Soccer suffered their first defeat of the season after falling to Xavier University Sunday afternoon 2-1 at Corcoran Field in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Murray State’s next game will be at 7p.m. on Friday (Sept. 3) at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Florida.
