Titans Set For Second Preseason Game Tomorrow Night
(Tampa, FL) — The Tennessee Titans will play their second preseason game tomorrow night against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The two teams held joint practices this week with punches thrown at times. The game is set for 6:30 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
Racers Offense Explodes in Second Half to Begin Season with a Big Win
The Murray State Women’s soccer team began their 2021 campaign off with a forceful 6-1 victory over the Missouri State Bears on Thursday afternoon at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky.
After going down 1-0 in the 12th minute of the match, the Racers stormed back in a big way in the second half. Abby Jones got the flurry of scoring started for the Racers in the 46th minute of the match. Within the next 14 minutes of the match, the Racers would score four more goals.
The Racers six goals are the most by a team under Coach Matt Lodge and the most goals scored in a Murray State match since 2011 when they scored six goals against Alabama A&M.
The next match for the Racers will be at Cutchin Field on Sunday (Aug. 22) at 1 pm against the Bulldogs from Louisiana Tech.
LLWS: Hawaii, California Big Winners On Day One In Williamsport
(Williamsport, PA) — Hawaii and California were big winners on the first day of the Little League World Series in Williamsport. The Honolulu Little League beat Connecticut 9-1 in their opener, while Torrance Little League from southern California knocked off New Hampshire 10-2. Ohio and Nebraska also won their first games to remain in the winners bracket. The 16-team field consists of all U.S.-based teams for the first time since 1975 due to the pandemic. One of those teams is Toms River East Little League. The team from Jersey City is back and led by Carson Frazier, nephew of two-time MLB All-Star Todd Frazier, who helped lead Toms River to the Little League World Series title as a 12-year-old back in 1998. The “Jersey Boys” will be playing in one of the four games on tap Friday in Williamsport.
