NATIONAL SPORTS BRIEFS
Aaron Rodgers isn’t upset with Jordan Love, but the club’s philosophy he believes has gone awry. Speaking with Kenny Mayne on E-S-P-N’s Sportscenter Monday night, the Green Bay Packers quarterback says it wasn’t that general manager Brian Gutekunst traded up or even drafted Love, it’s how he handled it. He explained it’s about the philosophy that it’s about the people that make the organization great, not vice versa.

It appears Julio Jones is on his way out of Atlanta. The Falcons wide receiver appeared on FS1 and said “I’m outta there.” Jones has spent his entire career with the Falcons since being drafted sixth overall in 2011. Jones was asked where he’d like to go next and he said he wants to win. The 32-year-old wide receiver has nearly 13-thousand receiving yards over his decade long career.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets made relatively easy work of their opponents in blowout wins in Game Two on Monday night. The Bucks cruised to a 132-98 win over the Miami Heat at home. The Nuggets pulled away in the second half to ensure a 128-109 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers in Denver. Tonight, the Boston Celtics visit the Brooklyn Nets for Game Two, the Phoenix Suns host the Los Angeles Lakers for Game Two, and the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers square off in Game Two in Los Angeles.

Jordan Clarkson is taking home the N-B-A’s Sixth Man of the Year award. The Utah Jazz guard beat out teammate Joe Ingles and New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose for the recognition. Clarkson is the first Jazz player to receive the award. He averaged 18.4 points per game off the Utah bench this season.

Josh Bailey took an errant pass from Tristan Jarry and buried a goal 51 seconds into double-O-T as the Islanders beat the Penguins 3-2 in Pittsburgh. In Winnipeg, the Jets won 4-3 in three overtimes to eliminate the Oilers. Elsewhere, Florida and Minnesota staved off elimination, with the Panthers beating the Lightning 4-1 and the Wild beating the Golden Knights 4-2. Toronto topped Montreal 2-1. Tonight, the Canadiens will look to bounce back and even up their series with the Maple Leafs in Montreal while the Predators look to ride their momentum into Carolina and top the Hurricanes.
